President Trump expressed his opposition to extending the unemployment benefit introduced as the economy worsened due to the corona19 crisis.

The Washington Post said President Trump made the comments during a private lunch with some Republican senators.

The U.S. government is currently providing approximately 740,000 won of US $ 600 per week to unemployed people who have lost their jobs due to corona.

The Democratic Party plans to extend the benefit to January next year, but the newspaper said Trump said it would be a hindrance to economic recovery.

It is argued that the economic recovery will be delayed if the unemployed give up on finding unemployment benefits and finding new jobs.

However, the paper explained that many economists are worried that the economy will suffer more as consumer sentiment shrinks if the benefits are cut.
