The building, located in the Bagatelle district of Toulouse, was under the surveillance of police from the anti-crime brigade (BAC). When they saw a woman come out of the building with a carton of cigarettes under her arm, the officers knew the address was correct. They went to an apartment and arrested two men on Tuesday around noon.

Aged 20 and 32, the latter are suspected of trafficking in tobacco. During the search of the accommodation which served as a point of sale, 2,000 packets of cigarettes, the provenance of which has not been filtered, as well as cash were found. The duo have been placed in police custody.

Tobacco sales increased by more than 23.7% between April 1 and April 30, 2020 in the network of French tobacconists, especially in the Southwest, due to the closure of the borders with Spain and Andorra for cause of containment.
