Decrease in resuscitation and hospitalizations in France

During his press briefing on Tuesday, Director General of Health Jérôme Salomon indicated that the balances of hospitalizations and resuscitation were negative. There are therefore now 28,022 deaths from coronavirus on the territory, against 28,239 on Monday, including 17,714 in the hospital and 10,308 in the ESMS.

Eight new clusters in the Grand Est since May 11

As deconfinement continues in France, eight new foci of coronavirus contamination have been identified in the Grand Est region since May 11, the first day of deconfinement in France, the Regional Health Agency and the regional prefecture. According to information from Les Echos , the government plans to add more than 130 billion debt to the "hole of the Safely", the repayment of which would be postponed from 2024 to 2033 due to the coronavirus and its budgetary consequences. The newspaper says that a bill providing for "massive defeasance of social debt" must be sent "very soon to the social partners".

Renault plans to close four sites in France

Over 320,200 deaths worldwide 

The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus has killed at least 320,255 people worldwide since its appearance in December in China, according to a report established by AFP from official sources Tuesday at 7 pm GMT. More than 4,850,670 cases of contamination have been officially diagnosed in 196 countries and territories since the start of the epidemic. However, this figure only reflects a fraction of their actual number, with many countries testing only those who require hospital care. At least 1,770,500 patients are today considered cured.

The United States is the most affected country in terms of number of deaths and cases, with 91,179 deaths for 1,519,986 cases. At least 283,178 people were declared cured. The other most bereaved countries are the United Kingdom with 35,341 deaths for 248,818 cases, Italy with 32,169 deaths (226,699 cases), France with 28,022 deaths (180,809 cases) and Spain with 27,778 deaths (232,037 cases). Among the countries hardest hit, Belgium is the one that deplores the highest number of deaths compared to its population, with 79 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Spain (59), Italy (53), the United Kingdom (52) and France (43).
