At the same time as the corona pandemic hit the storm, elderly residents in the country imposed a ban on visits because of the risk of infection. But Höganäs nursing and care accommodation is first out in the county, where eight residents showed interest, with putting up a plexiglass outdoors, which thus allows relatives to meet again.

- There is obviously a huge demand, both from the residents who did not get to meet their relatives and from relatives where I get many questions how I can solve this, so it feels fantastic fun to offer this, says Johanna Rehn, Head of Operations at Höganäs retirement home.

"He's there"

When SVT Uppsala visits the elderly, Ewa Waldner is present and opens the conversation. Here she finally gets to meet her big brother Svante for the first time since February.

"This is one thing I have missed," says Svante, who lives at Höganäs retirement home.

Their hands meet against the glass.

- It would have been great to go ahead and give a proper hug but we still see each other, that's what is so nice. He is there, says Ewa Waldner.
