After more than two months, the desks will again accommodate students. This was announced by the Generalitat to start on June 1, although it will not be in all of Catalonia but in the territories in which it is in phase 2, in principle Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l'Ebre, and Aran i Alt Pirineu. It will start with the kindergartens, with minors from 0 to 3 years old, and from there step by step with the rest of the minors, according to the plan of the Govern that indicates that from 5 years they must wear a mask if the distance conditions cannot be met.

In addition, the Generalitat requires families to present a declaration of responsibility to leave the children, in which it must be stated that the minor does not have symptoms of coronavirus, that he has not lived with positive or symptomatic people in the 15 days before returning to school and they have an up-to-date vaccination card. Thus, in kindergartens there will be five students; in infantile and primary, up to 12 years, 13 students; and in secondary education, baccalaureate and vocational training cycles up to 15 students. For the next academic year, 13 students are expected in the nursery and primary classrooms and 15 in the secondary and other studies.

Students must wear a mask as long as they are not far enough from each other in the classroom. The opening of centers in zones with phase 2 will not only be for the school calendar but also to host summer activities. However, the dining room is discarded. As of this opening, the Department of Education will send the guidelines on the application of the measures and conditions of the 2020-21 academic year so that each center can prepare, until the end of June, a contingency plan that guarantees the presence of all possible students at each moment of the school period, and foresee complementary alternatives of telematic attention. This plan must include the measures of each center in the event of a possible outbreak of the pandemic that forces closings.
