The Alpine Ski World Cup weekend in Wengen (Switzerland), among the most legendary on the circuit with Kitzbühel (Austria), is no longer on the calendar for the 2022 season, the Federation announced on Wednesday. Swiss.

The federation, which registers the country's races on the international calendar, reports in a press release a financial disagreement with the local organization, a dispute which must be resolved before the Arbitral Tribunal for Sport (CAS).

"Swiss-Ski cannot meet the financial demands of the Wengen organizing committee (...) By removing Wengen from the long-term calendar of the FIS (International Ski Federation), Swiss-Ski takes its responsibilities", note the organization, while the station of the canton of Bern remains registered for the next season with the program the traditional combined trio, downhill and slalom.

"For the association, the aim is to ensure that attractive World Cup races can take place in Switzerland, including on the Lauberhorn, in good economic conditions", adds Swiss Ski.
