Prime Minister of Lesotho Thomas Thabane has just ended months of political uncertainty. The head of government confirmed on Tuesday May 19 his resignation during a televised speech. The latter is implicated in the assassination of his ex-wife in 2017.

"I appear before you today to tell you that the work you have entrusted me with may not be finished but that the time has come for me to withdraw from the theater of operations, to leave public life and my duties, "said Thomas Thabane.

The head of government announced Monday his withdrawal from the press. In power since 2017, Thomas Thabane, 80, must be replaced at the head of the government by the current Minister of Finance Moeketsi Majoro.
