The preferred ultra-left track in relay antenna fires in France

Since the beginning of April, more than twenty acts of sabotage of telecom relays have been recorded, including three near Grenoble in the south-east of France, on the night of Sunday to Monday, May 18. Fires which severely disrupt communications in certain regions.

Three pylons were burned. The fires caused significant material damage and the telephone network was affected. The actions were carried out simultaneously in the Grenoble conurbation with the same operating mode. At least twenty-six sabotages were recorded across France in just two months. Almost all regions are affected and investigations are progressing.

In Grenoble, the privileged track leads to the militants of the “ultragauche anarcho libertaire”, in the words of the public prosecutor. Calls for "direct action" have in fact redoubled in recent times on anarchist blogs. A document dated February explaining how to destroy a relay antenna also circulates on the canvas.

But these 5G antennas have other enemies among the population. Recently, conspiracy theses accusing 5G of transmitting the coronavirus have flourished on social networks. This track is therefore not excluded by the Grenoble prosecutor.

In Great Britain, where anti-5G conspiracy videos have met with great success, sabotage of relay antennas has multiplied since the beginning of April.
