"If ever Agnes Buzyn has an attitude which compromises the candidacy of the running Republic, if the campaign of the running Republic finds itself distraught at the attitude of its head of list and if they wish to come and discuss with me the best way to transform Paris, I will remain, as always, open to discussion, "explained Cédric Villani on France Inter.

"Honestly, I did not understand today whether she maintains her candidacy or not," he added, stressing "to what extent the candidacy of Agnes Buzyn was the object of uncertainty and how point Agnès Buzyn herself sent contradictory signals as for its maintenance or not ".

"Agnes Buzyn remains a candidate"

Questioned by AFP, the entourage of Agnès Buzyn, who reunited in a conference call Tuesday evening the heads of list of the 17 districts, his campaign team and his allies, refused to comment on the mathematician's statements.

However, after the score of Agnes Buzyn who had collected only 17.3% of the votes in the first round, far behind the outgoing socialist mayor, Anne Hidalgo (29.3%), and her competitor LR, Rachida Dati (22 , 7%), discordant voices are now heard.

"Officially, yes, Agnès Buzyn remains a candidate but the question is that of temporality", warns a close friend of the ex-minister. If the ballot were to be postponed until next year, then "it must be a new campaign with other heads, a new program".
