The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, and the heads of government of Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia have called for the gradual reduction of restrictions imposed on borders in the framework of the fight against the Corona epidemic.

Yesterday, German government spokesman Stephen Seibert said after a video conference between Merkel and the heads of government of the "states of Vechigrad" that this was to happen as soon as the epidemic situation permitted this, but no dates were set for that.

Seibert added that the issue of cooperation in the German-Czech border region was deepened during bilateral talks with Czech Prime Minister Andre Papes, explaining that the two parties stressed the goal of limiting restrictions on the border region, to the extent that infection is not allowed.

Seibert added that the German chancellor also mentioned essential points of the German-French campaign for the economic recovery in Europe after the end of the Corona crisis.

The German government spokesman added that Merkel and the heads of government of the Visigrad countries agreed to another exchange of information on the issue of reviving the European economy.

Seibert noted that views were also exchanged on the priorities of the German presidency of the European Union Council during the second half of 2020.
