It was when the two policemen patrolled in their police car at Mälarbaden north of Eskilstuna that they suspected a car and wanted to check the driver.

They drove up alongside the car and tried to get the driver's attention, but instead of stopping, the car drove away at high speed. The police found that it was far too dangerous to follow.

A moment later, the policemen saw the car and it started to drive straight towards them. The police officers in question describe how they thought the man would crash into the police car they were sitting in.

Must pay damages

At the last moment, the man weighed in and instead of a frontal crash, only the side mirrors of the two cars hit each other. The police were able to follow the car after the collision and soon stop the insanity.

In connection with the arrest, the man, who was heavily alcoholic, made resistance and the policemen felt compelled to use his pepper spray.

Now, the man is sentenced to three months in prison for threatening an official, violent resistance and gross drunkenness. He will also pay damages to the policemen of SEK 7,000 each.
