Defense takes disciplinary action against Marco Kroon after the soldier gave a headbutt during last year's carnival. There will be a negative message in his file, it was announced on Tuesday.

In addition, it was decided that Kroon "will be transferred to a position where he will focus on veteran matters".

The negative report in his file may have consequences for the rest of Kroon's career. The decision was made after the man was sentenced by the court to community service after misconduct during carnival in Tilburg.

Kroon was caught urinating, and an officer addressed him and fined him. When the soldier continued to urinate and the agent called for reinforcement, the situation escalated. Kroon distributed a headbutt to one of the officers and also showed his genitals to another servant. This also earned him a conviction for trespassing.

Kroon received a William order for his earnings in Afghanistan. This is the highest award. It is not yet clear whether this is at stake. The soldier was already suspended by the Defense after the incident.
