The British airline EasyJet announced on Tuesday that it had been targeted by a "highly sophisticated" cyber attack which compromised the personal data of approximately 9 million customers.

Hackers had access to e-mail addresses and trip details, and in a small number of cases, 2,208 people, to credit card and passenger data, the company said, already very weak by the coronavirus pandemic.
