That the World Health Organization's coronation strategy is being investigated is not enough to satisfy Trump, says SVT's US correspondent Stefan Åsberg in Aktuellt:

- This independent investigation will look at how the WHO and the rest of the world reacted to this disaster. What Trump wants to see in the investigation is specifically how China has handled the information about the outbreak and whether the outbreak came from China's laboratory.

Celebrated China

Trump has sharply criticized WHO's relationship with China during the corona eruption. Among other things, he believes that while the organization paid tribute to China for shutting down its domestic flights at the beginning of the crisis, the United States faced criticism as it closed its borders.

Ulrika Bergsten, SVT's Asia correspondent, says in Aktuellt that it is difficult to determine how much influence China has over WHO:

- Much indicates that China is at least taking into account. The WHO boss was already in China at the end of January and he praised China's work on the pandemic. He said China had been very open about sharing information. And everyone knows that China was actually trying to hide the outbreak of the pandemic in the beginning.

"Politically motivated"

China is also critical of the independent investigation.

- You think this is a politically motivated investigation and that it should not be done now, but that you can wait a few years. It is mainly Australia and the United States that have driven this, and they have done so on the basis, China thinks, that China is the guilty party, says Ulrika Bergsten.

Will help Africa

However, China's leader Xi Jinping has said that he is part of the investigation. Yesterday, he gave a speech on WHO's opening day when he said that China will donate $ 2 billion to fight pandemics in Africa above all.

Ulrika Bergsten also does not believe that there is a concern about what the investigation could bring up:

- I think China also wants to know how the pandemic has spread from animal to human, where and when. It seems that China, the United States and the whole world benefit from this information.
