It was in June 2018 that the two restaurants in Nyköping were exposed to fire attacks. Later that year, a restaurant at Stationsplan in Katrineholm was set on fire. A 25-year-old man was sentenced at Nyköping District Court to ten years and six months in prison for serious murder and attempted murder.

The verdict was appealed to the High Court, where a now 17-year-old man with links to the convicted 25-year-old was called as a witness.

The 17-year-old assumed responsibility for the fires in Nyköping, but the High Court did not believe his information and upheld the district court's ruling. Among other things, the prosecutor was able to show that the 17-year-old's phone connected to a mast in another location when he should have carried out one of the arson attacks at the same time.

Now he is sentenced to youth care and youth service for 30 hours.
