May 18, 2020A free safety kit (mask, hand sanitizing gel, latex gloves and disposable headrest) is distributed on Frecciarossa and Frecciargento from today, Monday 18 May.

It is the new Trenitalia welcome on board the train for all passengers, in the second step of Phase 2 of the health emergency. The aim is to protect the health of people, travelers and employees, as demonstrated by the new checkerboard criterion for seat reservations.

On Trenitalia high-speed trains, by framing the QR code placed on the tables with the smartphone, passengers can view information on the activities and cleaning and sanitation processes activated by the transport company of the FS Italiane Group.

In this phase, the group is also committed to offering a number of connections that is appropriate to the mobility request of this period, taking into account the availability of places at 50%. From the second step of Phase 2, in fact, more than 4,400 regional routes, 38 Frecce and 20 InterCity trains are available to travelers, a marked increase compared to the previous weeks.

Digital solutions are also being studied which will guarantee passengers self-check-in, without any contact with the staff on board the train. In addition, a function will soon be available on Trenitalia systems that will allow travelers on regional trains to have information on the attendance of each journey and, therefore, of the seats available.

The FS Italiane Group reminds that all passengers must:

always wear a protective mask; strongly recommended to also wear disposable gloves;

be socially responsible, for oneself and for others, respecting the safety distance indicated by the health authorities, the indications and information present on board trains and at stations;

be collaborative on board the train with railway staff, use paths and doors for entering and exiting trains as indicated by the information panels;

be collaborative in the station with the railway staff in entering or exiting the gates, following the paths identified and the indications of the information panels.
