May 18, 2020 Seventy nursery and primary schools in France have been closed after the discovery of coronaviruses a week after the end of the lockdown: "They are probably cases contracted before returning to school, upon leaving the confinement", on May 11, said Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer, interviewed this morning on Rtl radio microphones, adding: "These closures are proof that we are rigid". Blanquer added that these cases in no way call into question the government's willingness to move forward with the progressive reopening of schools promoted by the current administration of President Emmanuel Macron. "The consequences of not going to school are much more serious," Blanquer warned.
