In a preliminary decision and after dozens of court sessions, the Israeli Central Court in the city of Lod in occupied Palestine condemned the Israeli settler Amiram Bin Uliel for killing three members of the Dawabsheh family in the village of Duma, near the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

Bin Olayel was convicted on Monday morning of three charges of killing the father of Saad al-Dawabsheh, the mother of Reham and their infant son Ali, as well as his accusation of attempting to kill their eldest son Ahmed, and of trying to burn the house of Mamoun al-Dawabsheh near the house of the Saad family.

He accused the Israeli settler who was brought to the courtroom of having a relationship with others for the crime of "racially motivated", and he was acquitted of membership in a terrorist organization called "the price-paying gang", which are settler groups launching attacks against Palestinians.

According to the description of lawyer Omar Khamayseh from the “Al-Mizan” Center for Human Rights in the city of Nazareth, which is in charge of the defense of the Dawabsheh family, the condemnation mainly affected Uliel and did not include another settler (a minor) who was actually involved in arson and murder, and was only convicted of planning in retaliation for the killing of settlers At the hands of Palestinian militants. Three life

Khamaysa considered that the decision is "important" and a fundamental building block in building the final ruling of the Central Court in Jerusalem, and he said in his interview with Al-Jazeera Net by phone that this decision "is important in pursuing the occupation and its crimes, and it is clear that the punishment will be three life sentences for settler bin Uliel."

He stated that, as lawyers, they also submitted a "fine" call to the State of Israel for being an occupied Palestinian territory, especially in the "C" areas, and it is their responsibility to protect the residents there.

The Palestinian lawyer pointed out that the lawyer for the defense of the Israeli settler stated that they would go to the Supreme Court to challenge the conviction, "they will challenge the punishment in the future", and nevertheless expected that the final decision will be issued "with no less than three life sentences."

During five years of deliberations and hearings in the Israeli courts, this decision is issued in its primary form, but it is not enough for the Dawabsheh family, who have suffered from the complete loss of their children once, and because of the occupation courts and their leaders inciting them several times.

Continuous incitement
Nasr al-Dawabsheh, brother of the martyr Saad, says, "Even execution is not enough." They, as a family, represent an entire population that is subjected to countless attacks by the occupation and its settlers. They want, through the trial, to "deter" the occupation and the settlers from any future crimes against the Palestinians.

Nasr adds in his speech to Al-Jazeera Net that they are still receiving threats from the settlers to burn and kill them, and that the last of them was today before the court after the Israelis demonstrated and launched "racist" chants against them, and demanded the freedom of the murderous settler Ben Uliel and called for revenge for him.

Al-Dawabsheh criticized the acquittal of Bin Uliel from membership in the terrorist organization despite his participation in it and his plan of racist slogans for revenge against the Arabs, which means that the danger as a family continues to threaten them from these gangs that receive support from "higher authorities" and that mainly pressure to acquit Bin Uliel.

The Dawabsheh family rejected previous occupation attempts to lure them with money, and insisted on the pursuit of the settlers who caused the crime and the most severe punishment for them. Nasr says they will go to international courts unless the Israeli judiciary, "whom we do not trust," does not do them justice.

Reciprocity
At the same time, Nasr Al-Dawabsheh called on the Palestinian Authority to act similarly and raise cases against the occupation, which punishes the prisoners and martyrs and confiscates their money, by raising “compensation cases” for all the families that were targeted by the occupation army and the settlers.

As for Hussein Al-Dawabsheh, the father of the martyr Reham, he said that the court session, which did not last more than half an hour, indicates the lack of seriousness of the occupation and its negligence in the blood of the Palestinians, and said that the decision - as important - would not return his daughter, child, and husband, or answer the questions of his grandson, the "living martyr" of the child Ahmed about his parents and his constant inquiries about them, "although he knows and remembers what happened in the smallest details."

Hussein adds that "loss" is a matter of greatness that only those who experienced it feel, and therefore deterrence and punishment must be the size of the crime. The wound did not heal after these years, and the suffering continues with all its evidence.

The importance of the decision, and
the court’s decision today - according to lawyer Omar Khamaisa - will constitute a strong motivation for Palestinian families to continue to pursue the occupation and its settlers, as is the prison sentence for various years and life imprisonment for the killers of the child Muhammad Abu Khudair in Jerusalem, and what is expected of the family of Aisha al-Rabi (47 years), who were killed by settlers More than a year ago near Nablus.

Khamayseh’s demand - as it is for the Dawabsheh family - is that the Israeli “criminals” will continue to be pursued with such files, and not to surrender to all the pressure exerted by the occupation, which is part of the problem at all.

He says that those who carry out the attacks, be they settlers or more, implement comprehensive inflammatory schemes launched and supported by politicians, clergy, Knesset members, and Israeli leaders on everything that is Palestinian.
