Dubai Roads and Transport Authority affirmed the necessity of placing a paper ticket for parking on the front of vehicles in areas where the old known orange devices are available is a fine worthy violation, adding that it is not like modern payment devices in some areas that document the process of paying fees in an immediate and electronic way.
The Authority began at the beginning of this year to install modern parking devices that can be distinguished in blue, and equipped with an interactive screen that allows the customer to enter the vehicle's data and issue an electronic ticket, without the need to print a paper ticket and place it on the front of the vehicle.
The Authority’s clarification is to avoid any confusion in the customers ’understanding of the conditions of using the parking of vehicles in Dubai, and in order not to impose any fines on them if they do not place the ticket clearly for the parking users who pay directly through the old payment devices.
The authority stated that users of public parking spaces in areas where modern devices are not available should continue to show the paper ticket on the front of their vehicles to avoid irregularities, pointing to the possibility of paying fees through smart means that include the smart application and text messages, which completely sings off highlighting Any paper ticket in all regions.
Customers can pay by text message on their mobile phones, including the area code, vehicle plate number and number of hours of parking use due for fees, as this method does not need to issue a ticket, while inspectors make sure that they pay the fees through smart scanning of their vehicle panels.
The tariff for parking service fees in Dubai in the areas bearing the symbol A is two dirhams for half an hour, 4 dirhams per hour, and 8 dirhams for two hours, while the fees vary according to the area code that expresses the type and size of its commercial and residential uses.
It is noteworthy that the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority will install the updated parking equipment equipped with an interactive screen in stages until it is completed in all regions by the year 2022.
