From Monday, Italian bars and restaurants are again allowed to open their doors, after more than two months of confinement. In Rome, Europe 1 has followed the last preparations in establishments that are preparing to welcome customers in necessarily special conditions.

A large number of activities are in fact authorized to reopen: shops, museums, hairdressing salons, churches, but also bars and restaurants, which have made their arrangements to prepare for the resumption, but under conditions different so that coronavirus cases don't start going up again. "There, we put a sign on the table. Fortunately it is transparent, it helps a little to keep a kind of normality!", Says Valerio.

In her little Trattoria, on the checkered tablecloths, Plexiglas were installed to separate customers from a distance of one meter compulsory. As a result, the atmosphere is no longer the same. "My restaurant is supposed to be a place to share, so it's going to be really strange," says Valerio. "We have to see how people will react. But for me, these plates are my only solution today. And I still had to remove half of my tables."

Thanks to its large terrace in the historic center of Rome, Clemente does not need plexiglass or air conditioning, which is now prohibited. But he is ready and not unhappy to reopen. "We have disinfected everything, we have gel, the cook will have a protective visor", explains the restaurateur. "I am really happy to reopen! Also because after three months of closure, I have already lost 350,000 euros, it's heavy!"

Clemente has no reservations yet, but he is waiting for the Italians. Since Monday morning, they finally have the right to move freely, without certification, to take advantage of this reopening of a large number of commercial activities. Italy also announced on Sunday that the borders will reopen to European tourists from June 3.
