Padel is a relatively young sport in Sweden and according to Johan Edfeldt, the science of injuries related to the sport is quite lean.

- There are some studies with self-reported injuries and then it is more about shoulder and elbow overloads, says Johan Edfelt,

Painful injury

For those affected by a health break, wait about two months with plaster and crutches.

- It is a painful injury to suffer, after two months it is a long rehabilitation before returning to its original level, says Johan Edfeldt.

In 2017, 88 abrasive health tendons were treated at USÖ, one of which was caused by paddle play, in 2019, 101 aborted health tendons were treated, of which 21 were caused by paddle play.

Seeking help from the naprapat

The Naprapath Magnus Eliason in Örebro has also noticed the growing interest in paddle and receives about five patients a week with direct connection to paddle play.

"It's about everything from back to shoulders and elbows and generally the problems are due to overloads," he says.

Often it is about people who are a little older, overweight and in poor shape and who are too stiff, immobile and heavy for the activity. In addition, many people neglect the heating, according to Magnus Eliiasson.

- However, I am positive that they want to move and give them mobility programs and dietary advice, says Magnus Eliasson.
