Early Sunday morning police and rescue services blocked off parts of central Halmstad. The alarm was received at 05.39 and according to information to the Swedish Radio, it is suspected that the man is armed and the response force from Gothenburg and a negotiator from Borås are in place.
- We have a negotiator in place to solve this in a way that is good for everyone, says police spokesman Ulla Brehm to SVT.
The public is urged to stay away from the site.
