Holding knife to daughter's neck - convicted of illegal threats

The daughter told police during an interview that her father became angry when she did not want to make tea for him and put a food knife against her neck. The girl should then have hidden under a table.

The police interview shows that the girl was afraid of his father, partly because he had previously beaten her mother. Something the man has been convicted of before.

According to the verdict, the man acknowledged holding a knife to his daughter's neck, but said it was the back of the knife blade and far from the neck. According to the father, the purpose was to scare the daughter by joking.

The man is sentenced to protective supervision and to undergo a program of violence in close relation. He must also pay damages to his daughter of SEK 10,000.
