- It was a very difficult decision, states Sandra Söderqvist, vice-chair of the Left Party in Gävle after the meeting that lasted for more than four hours on Sunday afternoon.

It was not only the debate about the wind farm that took time, but also some technical problems, as many of the participants were from home.

The meeting decided with the votes 23 to 20 that the municipality should veto the wind farm at the municipal council meeting in Gävle on Monday. This means that there is now a majority for that decision in the council.

- The decision is compulsory for our members of the council. Even if you are personally to build the wind farm, you have to vote for the municipality to veto, says Sandra Söderqvist.

- The party is basically for a wind power expansion, but in this case, the fishing interest is predominant, she notes.
