On Saturday afternoon, police and ambulances were alerted to Barkarby after an alert about an injured person outside a home. On site, a seriously injured woman was found, police say on her website.
Several patrols joined the scene to hold hearings with witnesses and an area was blocked off for a technical investigation.
- We have held a number of witness hearings at the site and have technicians in place to do a technical investigation, says police spokesman Åsa Wallentin.
At 9 pm, the police announced that the woman had died from the injuries.
- The person who is dead is a woman and now we have started a preliminary investigation of murder, says Åsa Valentin.
In connection with the scene, the police could arrest a person suspected of the act. The person is suspected of murder.
- A person is arrested and interrogation should be held with the person, says Åsa Valentin.
