France's volleyball team coach Laurent Tillie's contract has been extended until the Tokyo Olympics, postponed to the summer of 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the French Federation announced on Saturday.

"The board of directors of the French Volleyball Federation validated this Saturday the extension until the Tokyo Olympic Games (July 23-August 8, 2021) of the lease of Laurent Tillie at the head of the French men's team, more to an agreement reached with the Japanese club Panasonic Panthers, which he will direct next season, "explained the FFVB in a press release.

Quoted in the press release, Laurent Tillie, 56, thanked the Federation and the Osaka club for "allowing him to go after this adventure with the players".

"Tokyo will be a bit + The Last Dance +, to use the title of the series (successful documentary) on Michael Jordan. I will do everything to make this last dance end in the best possible way," added the French technician, at the head of the Blues since 2012, whose contract was to end in August 2020.
