“During the investigation, the identities of those involved in the commission of the specified crimes of persons located on the territory of the Russian Federation were established. Among them are Daniil Simonov from Perm, Andrey Shabanov from Samara, Denis Vorontsov from Volgograd, and also Vyacheslav Kruglov from Ulyanovsk, ”the UK said.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against these people. Searches are being conducted in their homes, investigators are questioning the suspects.

“The study of materials, items, and computer equipment seized during the searches gives the investigators reason to believe that all these individuals were in the same communities on social networks,” the department said.

In addition, it was established that Kruglov had previously been prosecuted for “crimes of an extremist and general criminal orientation”: in 2017 for an extremist crime, in 2018 - for theft.

Among those involved in the rehabilitation of Nazism there are citizens of other states, stressed in the UK. In particular, they are citizens of Ukraine and Estonia.

On May 15, investigators established a circle of people involved in an attempt to post photographs of the leaders of Nazi Germany on the websites of the Immortal Regiment online campaign.

On May 14, the Investigative Committee instituted criminal proceedings over posting photographs of Adolf Hitler and Heinrich Himmler during the virtual march "Immortal Regiment Online."

Such actions are aimed at endorsing the crimes of the Nazi regime established by the verdict of the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg, stressed in the UK.
