The coronavirus pandemic has caused the death of 27,625 people in France since the beginning of March, announced, Saturday, May 16, the Directorate General of Health. In the last 24 hours, 96 new deaths have been recorded.

Rising to 2,132 on Saturday, the number of intensive care patients continues to drop, as does the number of hospitalized patients (19,432 compared to 19,861, Friday).

However, if the pressure on the intensive care units continues to decrease with 71 patients of Covid-19 less than the previous day, 46 new serious cases were admitted to intensive care in 24 hours against 38 a week ago, specifies in a press release.

Since the start of the pandemic, 98,449 people have been hospitalized, of which nearly 17,500 have gone to intensive care. 61,066 people returned home.
