China News Service, May 16 Question: Why is the United States responsible for the global epidemic?

Recently, a special "death clock" appeared on the large screen of Times Square in New York. The bright red numbers show the number of people who died in the United States due to the new crown epidemic in real time, reminding U.S. government officials to be responsible for putting people in danger. The famous American scholar Chomsky even said in an interview that US leaders are not only responsible for the death of their own people, but also responsible for the death of people in other countries.

As of the 16th, the total number of confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in the world has exceeded 4.53 million, and the number of deaths has exceeded 300,000. Among them, the number of confirmed and fatal cases in the United States far exceeds that of other countries, and they have accounted for about one-third of the global total. These data and the data behind them all show that the United States has an inescapable responsibility for the global pandemic.

The first thing the United States needs to review is that its incumbents responded to the missteps, making the United States the epicenter of the global epidemic. Sitting on the world's most advanced medical conditions, but with 1.41 million infected people and 85,000 deaths, is it the world's first test level that can be explained? From the beginning of the epidemic, Washington has basically only been on the sidelines, busy with political calculations, and ignored many warnings from epidemic prevention experts and intelligence agencies. A study by Imperial College London pointed out that if the US home segregation regulations could be advanced two weeks from March 16, it would have prevented 90% of deaths. Dr. Fuch, an authority on infectious diseases in the United States, stated more clearly that even a week in advance can reduce deaths by 60%.

The number one power in the world has become the epicenter of the epidemic, and the magnitude of the shock wave is self-evident. The huge population of infected people in the United States is putting pressure on many countries. Canada ’s National Post reported that data from the four major provinces of Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta showed that the country ’s new crown epidemic was triggered by US imports. Australian Prime Minister Morrison said that 80% of the country's confirmed cases were formed by foreign imports or close contacts, most of which were imported by the United States. Morrison also believes that the United States should be responsible for the widespread spread of the new coronavirus.

It may be unintentional to injure an ally, but it is a guilty offender to suffer "backyard". Since the U.S. accelerated repatriation of illegal immigrants from Latin America in March, Guatemala ’s flights with repatriated illegal immigrants have been diagnosed with new crowns, and the average number of confirmed flights is half. The undetected accelerated repatriation model not only leads to unnecessary infection and death, which violates the basic humanitarian spirit; the short-term gathering of repatriated people also puts a heavy strain on the already vulnerable public health and epidemic prevention system in Latin America.

While the domestic prevention and control are weak and the cases are exported to the outside world, the United States is "stuck behind" the global epidemic prevention. At the critical juncture of epidemic prevention, instead of undertaking its due international obligations, the United States has accused WHO, which is the most reliant on global epidemic prevention, until the funds are "cut off" and threatened and suppressed. The politicized operation of the United States has caused unanimous resentment and criticism from other countries. The outside world generally believes that the coordination role of WHO is irreplaceable, and the United States should strive to improve its efficiency, rather than weaken it in a crisis. Its dangerous behavior is nothing more than looking for a “scapegoat” for domestic chaos, but irresponsible behavior has deeply hurt international cooperation in the fight against epidemics.

The new crown epidemic is globally prevalent, and the United States is undoubtedly responsible. But the scary thing is that American politicians also spread more harmful "political viruses." From discriminatory viral titles, to discrediting the source of lack of scientific evidence, to trying to build a "Leadership China Alliance" with false intelligence, the United States has been "scrapping" China. The purpose of this is to shirk responsibility. Whether it is the responsibility for weak domestic epidemic prevention, the responsibility for the global epidemic of epidemic disease, and all kinds of "wonderful" responsibilities, such as unfavourable election campaigns and economic recession, can be passed on to others. This operation by American politicians is not only not conducive to the most urgent international anti-epidemic cooperation, but also poisons the atmosphere of world security and mutual trust, and is even more harmful.
