On Thursday afternoon, it began to burn heavily in the roof of one of the buildings at Gylle school in Borlänge. The building where the fire started was being demolished and the demolition work had been underway on Thursday, police say.

Pupils who were in nearby buildings were evacuated - but according to the emergency services, the fire could be limited so that it did not reach other buildings. No people came to harm.

Classified as dangerous carelessness

It is still unclear how the fire started and during Friday the police will conduct a technical investigation at the scene. The police's heading is currently dangerous carelessness. Police spokesperson Stefan Wickberg reports during Friday morning that a number of interrogations have been conducted.
