The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson held phone talks Thursday evening on joint interests and cooperation in combating the Corona epidemic.

Johnson called on the Emir of the State of Qatar to participate in the International Vaccine Summit, hosted by Britain electronically on June 4.

London has announced that it will host this virtual summit to urge the acceleration of the production of a vaccine against the emerging virus, coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, which has killed more than 300,000 people worldwide since its appearance late last year.

The British Prime Minister's Office said that Johnson expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar for its assistance through Hamad International Airport in returning tens of thousands of Britons to the United Kingdom in light of the Corona crisis.

The two leaders discussed aspects of British-Qatari cooperation in the areas of security, trade and investment.

During the call, the Emir of Qatar reassured Johnson that he had recently recovered from Covid-19 disease.
