The Syrian government announced today, Thursday, the continued closure of border crossings with neighboring countries and the willingness to impose a total curfew.

The Syrian government team on following up the Corona Virus said in a statement that closing the border outlets will continue with the possibility of resorting to the imposition of a "complete curfew" according to the variables related to the virus, reaffirming the importance of citizen awareness and behaving with the highest levels of care and responsibility and commitment to health safety requirements outside and inside the home.

On the eighth of last March, the Syrian government announced the closure of its borders with Jordan and Iraq, and on the 22nd of March the Syrian government closed the border crossings with Lebanon and Turkey.

The government team decided during the meeting today, "to continue the night curfew imposed during the Eid al-Fitr period from seven thirty in the evening until six o'clock in the morning the following day, to be modified at night time immediately after Eid to become from six o'clock until six o'clock the next morning ".

 The government team also decided to "cancel the travel ban imposed between the governorates, starting from next Tuesday morning from 19 to 30 May, while observing the night curfew."

The government team emphasized continuing to prevent the holding of social events "weddings and condolences" and mandating the police and neighborhood committees in all villages and towns to prevent the organization of any social events.

It was decided to continue to close the tourist establishments, parks, restaurants, cafes and public parks during the Eid period.

The Syrian Ministry of Health announced today, Thursday, in a statement that the number of people who have been placed in quarantine centers since the first case was recorded reached 6781 people and 4224 people left them, with 2557 people remaining under health follow-up.

According to the ministry, the death toll of the Corona pandemic in Syria has reached 48, so far, 29 cases have been recovered, and three deaths have been recorded.
