In a major effort at Mora Stenar between Uppsala and Knivsta, the police, the customs and the Crown Prosecutor's Office made a joint case. The traffic control was part of the police's special effort against organized crime, Operation Rimfrost.

All vehicles were directed to the rest area for inspection.

- We chose a Thursday because we think there may be some illegal transport on the roads for the weekend, says Stefan Siesing.

There were both drug dogs and gun dogs in place. The police also took the help of motorcycles, in order to be able to quickly ascertain if any driver would try to evade control.

Can take cars

The Crown Magistrate made records in his records to check whether the drivers had debts.

- If someone has it, we can, for example, take a car, jewelry or cash directly, says Simon Almesjö, inspector.

Customs was looking for contraband liquor and contraband cigarettes.

A drug drunk driver

At 23 o'clock, the result was a couple of cars in foreclosure for the Kronofogden and the police had taken a suspected drug drunk driver who was allowed to have blood tests.

- We haven't found much, but have gone through many cars. The most important thing is our cooperation with the Customs and the Crown Guardian, and that we show the public that we are on the road network as well, says Stefan Siesing.
