According to RIA Novosti, the clergy of the SOC were detained for holding a meeting of believers on May 12 at the feast of St. Basil of Ostrog. Because of their detention in several cities of Montenegro, mass protests took place. 

In April, Greek authorities opened criminal proceedings against two clergymen for holding services in churches on Palm Sunday, despite the restrictive measures in force due to the coronavirus infection COVID-19.
