Dubai Health Authority confirmed that it relies in the diagnosis of the "Covid-19" virus on the only internationally approved laboratory examination to diagnose the disease, known by a technique known scientifically as "chain polymerase interaction" (PCR), and this test is used to detect the presence of the virus's DNA in the sample. Through a nose swab, a person is considered ill if the examination reveals the presence of acid.

The authority pointed out that there is a second type of examination used to detect the antibodies of the emerging corona virus, which are produced by the body by the immune system after days of infection, and thus may indicate a previous infection, including the immediate rapid examination known as (Rapid antibody test). The body stated that rapid tests to detect antibodies had not yet been universally approved as a diagnostic method.

She explained that the World Health Organization recommended limiting the use of immediate examination in conducting epidemiological observations in epidemiological surveys, research and studies.

The authority confirmed that its diagnostic procedures for "Covid-19" disease are in line with those of the official health authorities in the country. She appealed to members of society to extract information, especially those related to the field of health, from its official and reliable sources.
