Record of victories in Grand Slam, record of longevity at the first place of the world classification, Novak Djokovic still has big ambitions, as he confided in an American television program.

"I think I always have things to do in this sport. I think I can win more Grand Slams and break the longevity record as a world N.1. These are my goals," he said. he explained in the program "In Depth with Graham Bensinger" broadcast Thursday.

Djokovic has 17 Grand Slam titles to his credit and is therefore three lengths from the Swiss Roger Fededer (20), closely followed by his great Spanish rival Rafael Nadal (19).

The Serb has spent a total of 282 weeks on the world tennis throne and is just a stone's throw from Federer's record (310 weeks).

The optimism of "Djoko" is fueled by the advanced age of Federer who will be 39 years old in August, while the Serbian will be 33 years old on May 22, one year younger than Nadal.

Especially since the winner of the Australian Open 2020 is seen playing until his 40th birthday.

"I don't believe in limits. I want to play for a long time (...) I will no longer be able to play with this intensity on as many tournaments with so many trips for a long time. I may still be playing at 40, but I I will focus more on the biggest tournaments and those that are most important to me, "said Djokovic.
