The downward trend continues. France has registered 104 additional deaths linked to coronary heart disease in the past 24 hours, bringing to 27,529 the total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 since March 1, announced on May 15 the Directorate General of Health (DGS) in a press release. A first child with a form close to Kawasaki disease died in Marseille.

The French public health agency reports an additional 563 cases of SARS-CoV-2 contamination in 24 hours, for a total of 141,919 cases since the start of the epidemic.

19,861 hospitalized patients

The DGS specifies that the number of people hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection has passed under the bar of 20,000 patients, to 19,861 patients, 602 less than in the assessment on Thursday.

Regarding the severe forms of the disease, 2,203 patients are hospitalized in intensive care, 96 less than the day before.

Since the start of the epidemic, 98,192 people have been hospitalized, more than 17,000 of whom have gone to intensive care. 60,448 people returned home.

Covid-19 has killed at least 27,529 since March 1, but pressure on resuscitation services continues to ease, with 2,203 serious cases and a negative balance of 96 patients compared with Thursday, DGS said .
