The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has referred in her Twitter account to the apartment where she has resided for two months to ensure that "it is not luxury" and that it is not a "bargain" either . She also pointed out that there is a "campaign" against her and that she regrets that it has also affected the owner of the establishment, Kike Sarasola.

"The Room Mate offer is of the best quality and they are great professionals," wrote the PP leader in her official account. In it, he takes the opportunity to thank the businessman who "disinterestedly donated" various spaces so that the region could "heal people and take care of their toilets."

Ayuso has made these statements via Twitter a day after he pointed out - without naming him - the Minister of Social Policies, Alberto Reyero, as the person in charge of the controversy over the contract on behalf of the aparthotel where he lives since March 16 tested positive for coronovirus. It also announced the opening of an "internal investigation" for this reason.

The Reyero department, who is a Cs deputy, has justified this week that due to "error" a contract worth 565,000 euros was awarded precisely to the company of Kike Sarasola, owner of the suite in which Díaz Ayuso was confined and has continued residing after being discharged. The businessman had transferred two of his establishments -Room Mate Alicia and Room Mate Alba- for the transfer of healthy older people living in residences with those infected with Covid-19, but the contract in question had to have been in the name of the Platform of the Third Sector, according to the official explanation of Social Policies.

"I regret that the campaign against me has also affected him," Ayuso wrote this Friday on Twitter. "I am not in a luxury apartment, nor are they two 200 square meters; nor is it a bargain because the hotel is closed; nor has the hotelier done business with the Community," he added.

According to the Madrid president, the issue of her temporary accommodation is "a campaign to hide the disaster in which Spain has been involved", implicitly referring to the management of the crisis by the Pedro Sánchez government. And he added: " There is no disaster here, there is an apartment . "

Ayuso affirmed this Thursday at the regional Assembly that he will pay from his "pocket" the bill for the accommodation , next to the Plaza de España and overlooking the Temple of Debod. The hotel chain has pointed out this week that, as it is a "long stay" use, the stipulated price is 80 euros per day, 120 euros cheaper than the usual rate.
