From April to December 2019, a series of fires had occurred in farmhouses and uninhabited houses in the north of the Meuse, near Montmédy. Accidental? The arrests of three young volunteer firefighters on Monday tend to prove the opposite, reports L'Est Républicain.

The three suspects, all in their twenties, admitted the facts which had not cost human lives but caused serious material damage. They were referred before being placed under judicial supervision, according to the regional daily. They will be judged on September 2.
