"All of our TGV and Intercity trains are open for sale so that the French can prepare their journeys," assures Europe 1 Christophe Fanichet, CEO of SNCF Voyageurs.

SNCF will relaunch reservations for TGV and Intercités for the summer holidays on Friday, SNCF Voyageurs CEO Christophe Fanichet said on Thursday. "There is excellent news, the French will be able to go on vacation throughout France, and therefore all our TGV and Intercities are open for sale so that the French can prepare their trip", he assured at the microphone from Europe 1.

This announcement echoes those of Prime Minister Edouard Philippe earlier today, who said that "the French can go on vacation to France in July and August" and "can take their reservations".

Tickets exchangeable and refundable at no cost

These tickets, says Christophe Fanichet, will be "exchangeable and refundable free of charge if a Covid-19 episode appears". In addition, the railway company provides "the usual transport plan every year", further explains the CEO of SNCF Voyageurs, "and we will adapt if there are new requests".

In fact, the SNCF had opened its reservations for July and August on March 10, a few days before the start of confinement. But it had to significantly reduce the airfoil since - with currently 35% of TGVs and Intercities - and sells only one seat out of two to respect the rules of distance. For the time being, the company will continue to sell only one ticket out of two on its trains. "
