The UAE continues through its humanitarian arm, the Red Crescent Authority, to implement the "Ramadan Mir" campaign in Yemen, which was directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

In this regard, the UAE Red Crescent Authority distributed 1000 food parcels weighing 42 tons and 800 kilograms, which benefited 5,000 members of the incapable families in the Dhila'a district of Hadramawt governorate in order to alleviate their suffering and improve their living conditions.

The representative of the Emirati Red Crescent in Hadramawt Hamid Rashid Al Shamsi said that this campaign, which is implemented with the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, head of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, comes within the humanitarian projects to stand with families in need in Hadramout Governorate, especially with the repercussions of the spread of the pandemic of a virus. Al Shamsi affirmed the authority’s keenness to continue implementing these humanitarian projects to reach all Yemeni citizens in need, in light of the conditions in their country.

For its part, the beneficiary families expressed their thanks to the leadership and people of the UAE for this great help and humanitarian gesture, stressing that these food baskets came at the appropriate time amid their suffering and urgent need for various aid, especially food.

It is noteworthy that the number of food baskets distributed since the beginning of 2020 was 18,580 food parcels weighing 1076 tons and 533 km, of which 92 thousand and 900 individuals from the needy and affected families in Hadramout Governorate benefited.
