The session, "Prayer for Humanity", was moderated by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Jassim.
A number of executive and intellectual leaders in the Emirates also participated in the prayer, including the head of the Community Development Department, Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al-Khaili, the Director General of the Office of the Minister of Tolerance, Afra Al-Sabri, the Director General of the Family Development Foundation, Maryam Muhammad Al-Rumaithi, and the Director of the General Women's Union, Noura Al-Suwaidi, And a large number of public figures.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak said at the beginning of the session, "We are meeting today to pray and pray for the Creator, the Almighty, to lift the human epidemic of corona, and to inspire us the ability to cooperate, solidarity and joint action in facing this affliction."
He also directed to God to include all scientists, doctors and workers in the fields of health care with his mercy and care, and make success a companion of all sincere efforts to discover means of prevention and treatment of the virus.
He said: "We invite Him, glory be to Him, to work together in the face of this epidemic, which afflicts all without distinction or discrimination, and that this is an occasion for rapprochement and rejection of division between humans, and an important proof of the meanings of love, brotherhood and peace."
He added, "We in the Emirates of Zayed Al-Khair, but together we announce that this prayer for humanity is a wonderful example of our strong commitment to developing positive human relations between people everywhere."
He thanked His Holiness, Pope Francis, and His Eminence the Grand Imam, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, for their support of the initiative, which embodies the concept of human brotherhood in its highest sense.
He also thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for his strong support for the activities of this historic day in the march of humanity.
He said, “Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s strong support is a natural extension of His Highness’s distinguished role in issuing the Abu Dhabi Document for Human Fraternity, and for his continuous efforts to achieve coexistence, interdependence, compassion and peace between nations and peoples.”
He added: “We in the Emirates of Zayed Al-Khair are proud but we are following with determination and confidence in the footsteps of the great founder of the great state, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in providing a decent life for people everywhere, and we are very keen to remove everything that causes suffering , Pain or sorrow for him anywhere in the world. ” He concluded his speech by turning to God to accept our prayers and supplications, and to give us hope and ability in the face of this epidemic, and to make us all in that luminous models, embodying the highest meanings of cooperation and joint work between all people.
For his part, Chancellor Farouk Hamadeh said that the great gathering that includes various religions represents a wonderful case for human unity, stressing that peace between religions is the most important starting point for establishing peace, security and cooperation at the world level, hoping that God will accept supplication by revealing the affliction of all humanity, considering that this Today is a historic day to awaken the human instinct so that humanity will turn to the Creator Almighty to help it survive this pandemic.
The religious leaders participating in the prayer and prayer session also praised the role of the UAE leadership in supporting human values and the initiative to invite all religions and nationalities under the banner of human brotherhood.
