The Nîmes investigating chamber decided to release a woman who has been in pre-trial detention for four years and seven months. Accused of the murder of her husband in August 2015, she was to be tried by the Assize Court of Gard on March 16, along with her two sons. The victim's body was found partially charred. Their trial was postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic.

His lawyer, Khadija Aoudia, had requested the release of his client the previous week. According to the European Convention on Human Rights, everyone arrested and detained has the right to be tried "within a reasonable time".

Still accused of the crime of murder, she will appear free at the assizes

The 48-year-old woman remains charged with the crime of murder on her husband. Now placed under judicial supervision, she will appear free before the jury, like her two children. The new trial date has not been set.
