7.20 am: Return of a second wave of students

A second wave of schoolchildren resumes their way to school on Thursday, especially in Ile-de-France, a region very affected by the coronavirus epidemic, on the fourth day of deconfinement in the country, where activity resumes timidly.

By Friday, a total of some 1.5 million schoolchildren will have returned to school before it is the turn of the first college students in the green zones on Monday. In Paris, 601 public schools will reopen out of 652, or 92%, in the first place to welcome children deemed to be priority and whose parents wish.

In France, 27,074 have died from the new coronavirus since the start of the epidemic, including 83 in the past 24 hours, announced the Directorate General of Health on Wednesday evening. 2,428 patients are still hospitalized in intensive care, including 69 new serious cases admitted within 24 hours. The balance of resuscitation entries remains negative, with 114 fewer patients. Overseas, there are 104 hospitalizations, including 23 in intensive care.
