May 14, 2020 The Chamber has approved the Covid decree. There were 241 yes votes, 166 no votes and 5 abstained. The provision defines by law the duration of the coronavirus emergency on 31 July, which implies that the extension must take place with the same tool.

The decree confirms the possibility of the government to resort to Dpcm to impose restrictions on citizens, but these limitations are defined strictly.

The majority forces voted in favor while the opposition voted against. The measure, which contains the containment and restriction measures adopted by the government that led to the lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus infection, will now pass to the Senate examination and will have to be converted into law by May 25th.
