She stated this on the air of the YouTube channel "Nightingale Live".

She said that the deputies of the State Duma appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia with a request to take measures against publications that published false information, up to and including depriving their journalists of accreditation in Russia.

“This, of course, is an extreme measure, and this is not our method - deprivation of accreditation, expulsion of journalists or any other repressive measures. We always respond first of all with a word, and with a word, backed up by deed, by concrete steps, ”RIA Novosti quoted Zakharova as saying.

Also, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that further measures in relation to these publications will depend on whether they publish a refutation of misinformation about coronavirus in Russia.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Foreign Ministry will send the editorial offices of The New York Times and the Financial Times with a request to refute inaccurate data published by them about the alleged underestimation of coronavirus mortality in Russia. Letters with requests will be sent on May 14 through the Russian embassies in the United States and Great Britain.
