Of the 130 people who died in covid-19 in the county until May 7, 124 people were older than 70 years. Of these, over 50 per cent had died in housing for the elderly.

- Elderly homes are a fairly common place to die. You just live in old-age housing because you can't manage yourself. And often you are already sick in one or more ways, Anna Lundqvist, a nurse at the region's community clinic at the University Hospital.

Of those older than 70 years, 64 people died, ie 52 per cent, in elderly housing and 50 persons, ie 40 per cent, in hospitals.

- You must not forget that people die in elderly homes in ordinary cases as well, says Anna Lundqvist.

A quarter of the elderly who have died have neither had a home for the elderly nor a home service.
