The All Black Nehe Milner-Skudder, whose arrival in Toulon has not been postponed, finally joined the Highlanders to compete in the New Zealand version of Super Rugby.

The 29-year-old winger has signed on for two seasons, the Dunedin-based franchise announced in a statement.

"Look forward to playing in one of the best competitions I have ever competed in," wrote Milner-Skudder on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of him wearing the Highlanders jersey.

Brilliant at the coronation of the Kiwis at the 2015 World Cup with 6 tries, Milner-Skudder has since been sent off the field by a long series of injuries.

His arrival at RC Toulon, first scheduled for fall 2019, was postponed for medical reasons, then further moved away with the end of the championship imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Once on his feet, he will be able to compete in Super Rugby Aotearoa, the New Zealand championship which this season replaces the championship in the Southern Hemisphere and is due to start on June 13.

"It was a great opportunity to include a player with experience in our team," said Highlanders coach Aaron Mauger in a franchise statement.
