Jönköping County Museum has, due to the corona pandemic, decided to suspend all public activities such as screenings, lectures and other program points until 31 August. But the museum is open and visitors can watch the exhibitions on their own. At the same time, new approaches have been taken for those who do not want to stay in public premises.

Digital museum visits

On its website, Sweden's museums have compiled a comprehensive list of tips on digital museum visits from north to south, for example the exhibition "100 years of oblivion" at the Jönköping Museum, webcast talks from Jamtli in the series "Where you are", jazz at Skissernas i Lund and much more.

The digital visitors, among other things, have access to researchers, specialists and educators who otherwise work exclusively inside the museum building. In addition, there is the opportunity for outdoor activities, such as an audio walking app from Västmanland County Museum.

- The museums now offer a rich selection through their digital channels for those who cannot visit the museum on site. We also hope that it can attract visitors to plan their summer visit, ”says Jeanette Gustafsdotter, secretary general of Sweden Museums.
