- I would like to thank everyone who takes personal responsibility and refrains from traveling right now. We are grateful that almost 60 percent have changed their travel plans, compared to the corresponding week last year, says Christer Bruzelius, CEO of Destination Gotland in a press release.

Destination Gotland has developed a "travel net" to measure how many people are on Gotland, in addition to the ordinary population, at the same time. Preliminary figures show that, at most, about five thousand people will be extra people during Christ's Ascension weekend.

"Much lower than it usually is"

- We see that the number of people on Gotland at the same time during the Ascension of Christ is much lower than it usually is. And we do everything we can to ensure safe transport for those who need to travel, says Christer Bruzelius.

Destination Gotland has also taken measures to reduce the spread of infection on board. Among other things, only less than half of the seats on board are still bookable and cleaning has intensified.
